Design of the qualification and training

We have designed our qualification and training programme to provide you with the knowledge and skills to manage accounting records effectively. It provides skills and competence for analyses of the financial data at the appropriate level. It recognises and uses different accounting approaches to gather and report information to support decision- making, planning and control and all compliance from HMRC point of view. This programme also equips learners to be prepared to provide support as an Assistant Accountant within practice or industry.

Overview of the programme

The programme includes work shadowing scheme, aiming to enhance skills to be proficient in the day-to-day advanced accounting tasks. These tasks include data-entry to month-end management accounts, year-end financial statements and generating the various type of reports and analyses while using a variety of software such as Xero, Sage 50, Quickbooks, Sage Payroll and Brightpay. During this qualification and training, you will carry out a variety of tasks including recording transactions into ledger accounts, registrations and submissions to HMRC, control accounts such as, Wages, VAT, fixed assets, PAYE, DLA, suspense accounts, bad debts, loan amortisation, debtors & creditors reconciliations, prepayments and accruals, posting journals, preparing extended trial balance, producing monthly or quarterly management accounts and handling HMRC enquiries. Digital Assistant Accountant training covers the following areas:
